RAJSHAHI, May 9, (V7N)– The streets of Rajshahi city have turned into a vibrant canvas of nature, with rows of Sonalu, Jarul, and Krishnachura trees painting the roadsides in yellow, purple, and fiery red. From Alif-Lam-Meem Bhata to Nader Hajir More, and stretching nearly seven kilometers to Chauddapai Bihas, the flower-laden sidewalks are offering pedestrians a rare moment of peace in the bustling city.
Locals say the road takes on a new look in summer, especially in the afternoon light when Sonalu’s golden blossoms shine brighter and Jarul’s purple hues create a serene atmosphere before dusk. The fiery red Krishnachura adds a lively contrast, making the road resemble a moving garden.
According to Rajshahi City Corporation sources, about 10,000 trees were planted along the sidewalks in 2019, with different flowering species arranged every kilometer. Decorative plants and 530 LED lights enhance the beauty, especially at night, attracting families, tourists, and young people who stop to take photos, sip tea, and enjoy the view.
Residents like Md. Sharifuzzaman and Md. Kamrul Hasan expressed joy at the floral display, calling it one of the city’s most beautiful roads this season. However, some complained that visitors are plucking flowers, diminishing the natural charm. Shopkeepers reported increased sales as crowds gather to enjoy the blooming spectacle.
This seasonal festival of colors has transformed Rajshahi’s busy roads into a place of comfort, proving that the beauty of a city lies not only in its buildings but also in its greenery and environment.
