Teknaf, Oct 3 (V7N) – Police have recovered the floating body of an unidentified man, aged around 40, from the Naf River near Shah Porir Dwip in Teknaf upazila.

The body was retrieved around 11 a.m. on Friday after locals informed authorities. Police said the man was wearing a t-shirt and half pants when recovered.

Nurul Alam, a local resident, said they noticed the body floating near the Shah Porir Dwip trawler ghat area in the morning and immediately reported it to police. A team from Teknaf Model Police Station later arrived at the spot and recovered the body.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Teknaf Model Police Station, Zayed Noor, confirmed the recovery, stating that an inquest report has been prepared and preparations are underway to send the body to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Police said the man’s identity has not yet been determined. An unnatural death (UD) case is being processed in connection with the incident. Authorities added that the cause of death will be confirmed only after the post-mortem examination.
