Madaripur, Oct 01 (V7N) – Advocate Masud Parvez (VP), General Secretary of the Madaripur District Swechchhasebak Dal and BNP nomination aspirant for Madaripur-2 constituency, has criticized those advocating for the proportional representation (PR) system in Bangladesh’s electoral process.

Speaking as the chief guest at a yard meeting organized by Kunia Union BNP in Madaripur Sadar Upazila on Monday evening, Parvez said, “Those who want the PR system have no trust in the people. That is why they demand proportional representation.”

He further stated, “If the events of August 5 had not taken place, they would not have revealed themselves from under the cover of the Awami League. Our only Islam is the Islam of Madinah. There is no need for any alternative version of Islam.”

The meeting was attended by Sirajul Islam Hawlader, former General Secretary of Kunia Union BNP; Shahidul Islam Shimul, Joint General Secretary of Madaripur District Swechchhasebak Dal; Badsha Mia, Convener of Kunia Union Swechchhasebak Dal; Bablu Hawlader, Convener of Kunia Union Krishak Dal; and Md. Iqbal Hossain of Madaripur District Chhatra Dal, along with leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliated bodies.
