Dhaka, Apr 28 (V7N) — Gold prices in Bangladesh’s domestic market have been reduced again, with the maximum price cut reaching Tk 2,216 per bhori, according to a new announcement by the Bangladesh Jewellers Association.
The revised prices came into effect from 10:00 AM on Tuesday.
Under the new rate, the price of 22-carat gold—the highest quality widely traded in the local market—has been set at Tk 2,44,711 per bhori (11.664 grams). The price of 21-carat gold now stands at Tk 2,33,572 per bhori, while 18-carat gold has been fixed at Tk 2,00,213 per bhori. The price of traditional (sanatan) gold has been set at Tk 1,63,63 per bhori.
In its notification, BAJUS said the adjustment was made following a decline in the price of pure gold in the local market, prompting a reassessment based on the overall market situation.
Previously, on April 23, BAJUS had also reduced gold prices, lowering the 22-carat rate by Tk 3,266 to Tk 2,46,927 per bhori.
The latest revision reflects continued volatility in the domestic gold market, influenced by changes in global prices and local demand-supply dynamics.
