Dhaka, May 11 (V7N)- Dr. Zubaida Rahman has said that the state should act as a supportive force rather than an obstacle in ensuring the safety and proper human development of girls and women.

She made the remarks at a rally organized by the Bangladesh Police Women’s Welfare Association (PUNAK), held at the Rajarbagh Police Lines Auditorium in Dhaka on Monday.

Dr. Rahman emphasized that women can play a central role in family and social development, particularly in areas such as health, education, and rural progress. She said empowering women entrepreneurs in small, cottage, and medium industries is essential for achieving broader economic and social development goals.

She further stressed the need for providing women with proper training, development opportunities, and marketing support to ensure self-reliance and sustainable income generation.

According to her, such measures would help improve family welfare, ensure better education for children, and contribute to poverty reduction across communities.
