Dhaka, Apr 20 (V7N) — BNP Secretary General and Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir departed for Beijing on Sunday night on an official visit at the invitation of the Communist Party of China.

He left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 10:10 pm on a flight operated by Air China.

Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen saw him off at the airport. The two exchanged greetings and held a brief courtesy meeting before departure. Mirza Fakhrul is accompanied on the সফর by his Assistant Private Secretary, Yunus Ali.

Focus on bilateral ties

According to party and ministry sources, the visit will include meetings with senior Chinese political leaders. Discussions are expected to focus on strengthening bilateral relations, expanding development cooperation, and addressing issues of mutual interest.

The visit is seen as part of ongoing diplomatic engagement between Bangladesh and China aimed at enhancing political and economic partnerships.
