Dhaka, Mar 15 (V7N) — An air ambulance carrying Prime Minister’s political advisor and BNP Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas departed for Singapore at 11:20 am on Sunday to receive advanced medical treatment.
Mirza Abbas will be admitted to Singapore General Hospital. He was accompanied by his wife, Afroza Abbas, eldest son Yasir Abbas, and Evercare Hospital doctor Dr. Zafar Iqbal.
According to BNP Health Affairs Secretary Dr. Rafiqul Islam, the decision to transfer him abroad was taken based on the advice of the medical board. “All primary treatments have been administered at Evercare, but more advanced care is required in Singapore. It cannot yet be said that he is out of danger,” he told the media.
Mirza Abbas had undergone two brain surgeries on Friday (March 13) at Evercare Hospital, after falling ill and losing consciousness during Iftar the previous Wednesday. A CT scan conducted on Saturday morning showed positive results, prompting the decision for further treatment abroad.
