Dhaka, Jan 04 (V7N)- BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has urged political parties to ensure that political competition does not escalate into violence and warned against actions that could create divisions in society.

The message was conveyed through Revolutionary Workers Party General Secretary Saiful Haque after he paid a courtesy call on Tarique Rahman and signed the condolence book opened by BNP for Begum Khaleda Zia at the party office in Gulshan on Sunday (January 4).

Saiful Haque said that Tarique Rahman is deeply concerned about mob terrorism and the insecurity of people’s lives and property, emphasizing the need to foster peace and harmony among citizens. He also highlighted the BNP leader’s call to work towards unity and solidarity in the country.

During discussions, the two parties reportedly agreed to ensure a democratic path for Bangladesh through the upcoming elections. Talks also touched upon Tarique Rahman’s potential participation in election-related mass mobilizations, including in the Dhaka-12 constituency.
