Dhaka, Dec 02 (V7N) — BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the Zia family and the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) to all those who have extended prayers, support and good wishes for the recovery of Begum Khaleda Zia from around the world.
In a post from his verified Facebook page on Tuesday (December 2) morning, he wrote, “The concerns and worries of leaders, diplomats and friends from different countries, as well as the immense love and prayers of the people of Bangladesh, are deeply touching our emotions and feelings.”
Tarique Rahman said the collective support of the nation has become a significant source of strength and motivation for their family. He conveyed deep appreciation to everyone for their unity, compassion and solidarity during this challenging period.
Former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia has been hospitalized since November 23 due to severe health complications. Her condition has worsened because of multiple critical issues, including liver failure, reduced kidney function, respiratory distress, diabetes, and other long-term illnesses.
Following further deterioration, she was shifted from the High Dependency Unit (HDU) to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) early Sunday morning, where she remains under close medical supervision.
