Jhalokathi, Nov 01 (V7N) – A workers’ conference and rally were organized in support of Dr. Faizul Haque, the Jamaat-e-Islami nominee for the upcoming parliamentary elections, at Kaikhali Bazar in Kathalia Upazila on Friday afternoon. The event was held at the Eidgah grounds of Riazul Jannah Mosque and commenced at 4:00 p.m., organized by the Chechhri Rampur Union unit of Jamaat-e-Islami.

The conference was presided over by Md. Shamim Laskor, Amir of Chechhri Rampur Union Jamaat, while the chief guest, Advocate Hafizur Rahman, Amir of Jhalokathi District Jamaat and a member of the Central Majlis-e-Shura, addressed the gathering.

Advocate Hafizur Rahman emphasized the importance of holding a referendum to implement the July charter and expressed concern over any opposition to it before February. He called for a ‘level playing field’ ahead of the elections and urged for an arms-free nation. He further described Jamaat-e-Islami as a party free from extortion, encroachment, and corruption, and requested voters in Jhalokathi-1 to support Dr. Faizul Haque under the “Daripalla” electoral symbol. He warned that those who attempted to eliminate Jamaat have failed, and those threatening the party will also face defeat.

Dr. Faizul Haque, the main speaker and parliamentary candidate for Jhalokathi-1 (Rajapur-Kathalia), stated that Jamaat-e-Islami stands beside the people to combat injustice, corruption, and unemployment. He urged voters to support the party to build a just society.

Special guests at the event included Maulana Abu Bakr Siddiq, member of the Jhalokathi District Workers’ Council, Upazila Amir Master Md. Mojibur Rahman, and Upazila Secretary Assistant Professor Md. Saiyadur Rahman.

The speakers collectively called for votes in favor of the Daripalla symbol in the upcoming national election and pledged to strengthen party activities at the grassroots level. Following the conference, a large rally supporting Dr. Faizul Haque and the Daripalla symbol proceeded through the main streets of Kaikhali Bazar, drawing significant local participation and support.
