Dhaka, Sep 22 (V7N) – Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Senior Joint Secretary General of the BNP, has alleged a concerted effort to remove the party from the political arena through propaganda, drawing parallels with the 1/11 incidents.
He made the remarks at a program at the party’s central office in Nayapaltan on Monday. Rizvi said, “Since August 5, terrible propaganda has been spread against the BNP. At the very time we were preparing for organizational activities, various political parties, including government advisors, targeted BNP. This mirrors the tactics used during One-Eleven.”
Rizvi warned that national and international conspiracies remain active, and attempts at sabotage or disturbances could occur during Durga Puja. He urged BNP leaders and activists to remain vigilant and guard puja mandaps to ensure the safety of followers of traditional religions.
He further alleged that competent officials have been sidelined in administration due to their association with Chhatra Dal, while supporters of a particular political party are being appointed as DCs and SPs. He also criticized the role of Senior Secretary Mokhlesur Rahman in this context.
Rizvi has been making similar allegations in recent days, including at the National Press Club and during the Kishoreganj District BNP triennial conference, where Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir emphasized that despite repeated conspiracies, BNP has withstood attempts to eliminate it.
