DHAKA, June 6, (V7N) – The Ministry of Land has directed its field-level officials and employees to submit their asset statements by June 25 as part of efforts to strengthen transparency, accountability and good governance in land administration.
The directive was issued through a recent letter from the Administration-4 Sub-Branch of the ministry.
According to the letter, all concerned officials and employees working under the field-level management and revenue administration of the ministry have been instructed to submit their asset declarations using the prescribed form within the stipulated deadline.
The order applies to officials and staff of Upazila Land Offices, Revenue Circle Offices and Union Land Offices, including Kanungos, Surveyors, Union Land Assistant Officers, Union Land Sub-Assistant Officers, Process Servers, Office Assistants, Chainmen and Security Guards.
However, Assistant Commissioners (Land) have been kept outside the scope of the current directive.
The ministry said the initiative is aimed at ensuring greater administrative transparency, accountability and integrity among officials engaged in land management and revenue administration.
According to the letter, asset statements from several categories of field-level officials, including Kanungos, Surveyors, Union Land Assistant Officers and Union Land Sub-Assistant Officers, have not yet been received.
As a result, all Deputy Commissioners, Divisional Commissioners and other responsible authorities have been instructed to take necessary measures to ensure the submission of the required information within the June 25 deadline.
The ministry expressed hope that the move would contribute to strengthening oversight and promoting good governance across the country's land administration system.
