Dhaka, Jul 12 (V7N)- The results of the Primary Scholarship Examination-2025 have been officially published, with a total of 79,246 students receiving scholarships across the country. Among them, 32,965 students have been awarded talent pool scholarships, while 46,281 have received general scholarships.

Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon announced the results at a press conference held at the International Mother Language Institute on Sunday (July 12).

According to the Education Minister, the Primary Scholarship Examination Policy-2026 initially set a target of awarding 82,500 scholarships, including 33,000 talent pool scholarships and 49,500 general scholarships.

He said that under the talent pool category, 80 percent of the scholarships were allocated to government primary schools and 20 percent to private schools.

For the general scholarship category, 39,600 scholarships were earmarked for government primary schools, with five scholarships allocated for each union and ward—two for boys, two for girls, and one based on merit. The remaining 20 percent of general scholarships were reserved for private schools on an upazila basis.

The minister also revealed that a total of 78,810 educational institutions participated in this year's examination, including 65,605 government primary schools and 13,205 private schools.

A total of 645,041 students registered for the examination, including 256,117 boys and 388,924 girls. Of them, 419,982 students sat for the examination, representing 65.11 percent of the registered candidates.

Among the examinees, 344,127 students from government schools and 75,855 students from private schools participated. Female students accounted for 253,341 candidates (60.32 percent), while 166,641 candidates (39.68 percent) were male.

Of the 79,246 scholarship recipients, 26,375 talent pool scholarships went to students from government schools and 6,590 to students from private schools. In the general scholarship category, 36,420 recipients were from government schools and 9,861 from private schools.

Overall, 35,892 scholarship recipients (45.29 percent) were male students, while 43,354 (54.71 percent) were female students.

Speaking at the event, the Education Minister said the Primary Scholarship Examination is not only a measure of students' academic merit but also an important step toward developing the country's future generation into competitive, responsible, and capable citizens.
