Sherpur, Jan 07 (V7N) — More than 300 leaders and activists of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement officially joined the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in Sherpur on Tuesday afternoon. The induction was led by Farhan Fuad Tuhin, the chief coordinator and spokesperson of the movement in Sherpur district.

The formal ceremony took place at the BNP district office at 4:00 pm, where Sherpur-1 BNP nominee and district joint convener Sansila Zebrin Priyanka, along with Sherpur Sadar Upazila BNP convener Alhaj Hazrat Ali, welcomed the new members with floral greetings.

Among those who joined were senior organizers Arafat Rahman Talukdar and Nahim Ahmed Niloy, senior joint secretary Monibul Islam, coordinator Ashiqur Rahman Ashiq, and over 300 other leaders and activists.

Addressing the gathering, chief coordinator Tuhin said, “With the upcoming elections likely to bring a party-led government, we see BNP as the strongest major party. We have joined BNP to contribute to realizing the vision of BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman.”

Other prominent attendees included Sadar Upazila BNP member secretary Saiful Islam, acting president of Sherpur District Chhatra Dal Hashem Siddiqui Babu, general secretary Naim Hasan Ujjwal, organizational secretary Zakir Hossain, and voluntary party member secretary Niyamul Hasan Anand, among other party leaders and activists.
