Dhaka, Jul 13 (V7N) — The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has recorded 97 millimetres of rainfall in Dhaka and its surrounding areas over the past 24 hours and forecast further rain or thundershowers in the capital today.

According to the weather forecast issued for the six-hour period beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, the sky over Dhaka is expected to remain cloudy to temporarily cloudy, with the possibility of rain or thundershowers at times.

The BMD said south to southwesterly winds may blow at a speed of 10 to 15 kilometres per hour, while the daytime temperature is expected to remain nearly unchanged.

Meteorological data show that the temperature in Dhaka was 27.4 degrees Celsius at 6:00 a.m. on Monday, with the relative humidity recorded at 97 percent.

The highest temperature recorded in the capital on Sunday was 28.4 degrees Celsius, while the lowest temperature recorded on Monday morning was 25.6 degrees Celsius.

The latest forecast comes after days of continuous monsoon rainfall that caused widespread waterlogging and disrupted normal life across several parts of the capital.
