Dhaka, Jul 12 (V7N) — The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast temporary gusty or squally winds accompanied by rain or thundershowers in 13 regions of the country.
The warning was issued in the weather forecast for the country's inland river ports, valid from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
According to the BMD, the regions of Rajshahi, Pabna, Tangail, Dhaka, Faridpur, Jessore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla and Chattogram may experience temporary gusty or squally winds blowing from the south or southeast at speeds of 45 to 60 kilometres per hour, accompanied by rain or thunderstorms.
In view of the forecast, the Meteorological Department has advised all inland river ports in the affected regions to display Warning Signal No. 1 and urged those operating on rivers to remain cautious during the period of adverse weather.
