Dhaka, May 01 (V7N) — Torrential rain lashed the capital Dhaka before dawn on Friday, causing widespread disruption to daily life on the public holiday.

While the sudden downpour brought temporary relief from the heat, people who ventured বাইরে faced significant hardship as waterlogging affected many major roads, lanes, and low-lying areas across the city.

The accumulation of rainwater slowed traffic movement, leaving commuters struggling to reach their destinations. Normal movement across the capital was disrupted during the early hours of the day due to the adverse weather conditions.

According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, rainfall may continue over the next few days under the influence of seasonal winds.

Authorities have advised residents—particularly those living in low-lying areas and daily wage earners—to take extra precautions in their daily activities as the situation may persist.
