Dhaka, Apr 09 (V7N) – The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued a warning of Kalbaisakhi storms in five divisions of the country, including the capital Dhaka.

According to a message signed by meteorologist Dr. Md. Omar Faruk on Thursday, storms may occur within the next 12 hours from 8:00 am.

The warning states that Kalbaisakhi storms accompanied by gusty winds of 60–80 km/h or more may sweep across parts of Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong, and Sylhet divisions, mainly from the west or northwest direction.

The department also cautioned that these storms may bring thunder and isolated hail, posing risks to crops, infrastructure, and public safety. Authorities have advised residents to remain alert and take necessary precautions during the period.
