Dhaka, Feb 25 (V7N)- New administrators have officially taken charge of Gazipur, Narayanganj, and Sylhet City Corporations on Wednesday, receiving warm welcomes from party leaders, activists, and city employees.
In Sylhet, Abdul Qayyum Chowdhury, Sylhet District BNP President, assumed office from the Sylhet Divisional Commissioner at noon. Upon taking charge, he outlined plans for city cleanliness, mosquito control, and maintaining law and order, urging all stakeholders to cooperate for the city’s development.
In Narayanganj, Advocate Sakhawat Hossain Khan, convener of Metropolitan BNP, took office as the city administrator. He announced a 60-day program to address major issues, including ensuring a continuous supply of clean water, and engaged with the media about his priorities.
Meanwhile, Shawkat Sarkar assumed office as the administrator of Gazipur City Corporation, the country’s largest city corporation, in the morning. He pledged to focus on urban development and improving the quality of municipal services.
All three administrators emphasized collaboration with employees and local communities to deliver efficient services and ensure sustainable development in their respective cities.
