Dhaka, Oct 23 (V7N) — Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner SM Sajjat Ali has expressed confidence that the upcoming national election will be held peacefully, saying that law enforcement agencies are fully capable of handling any attempts by “evil forces” to create unrest.

He made the remarks while responding to questions from journalists during a traffic awareness program at a hotel in the capital on Thursday (October 23) afternoon.

“The Awami League and its affiliates are trying to organize small processions by secretly gathering online,” the DMP Commissioner said, adding that the police remain vigilant against such “terrorist activities.”

He further noted that improving the country’s traffic management system requires coordinated efforts beyond policing alone. “It is not possible for the police alone to develop the traffic system. If all relevant institutions, including road and sidewalk management authorities, work with goodwill, traffic management can be improved significantly,” he said.
