Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina concluded her six-day official visit to Thailand and departed from Bangkok on Sunday. Accompanied by her delegation, she boarded a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight that took off from Don Mueang International Airport at 10:10 am local time. The flight is expected to land at Hazrat Shajalal International Airport in Dhaka at 11:30 am.

During her visit, which began on April 24, Prime Minister Hasina engaged in bilateral and multilateral discussions aimed at enhancing cooperation between Bangladesh and Thailand. She held talks with Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, during which five bilateral agreements were signed covering areas such as visa exemption, energy cooperation, tourism, customs matters, and the negotiation of a free trade agreement (FTA) between the two countries.

Speaking at an official luncheon hosted by Prime Minister Thavisin, Sheikh Hasina described her visit as a significant milestone in bilateral relations, fostering a new era of partnership between Bangladesh and Thailand. Additionally, she paid a courtesy call on the King and Queen of Thailand at Amphorn Satharn Throne Hall and addressed the 80th Session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) in Bangkok.

The signed documents between Dhaka and Bangkok include an agreement, three memorandums of understanding (MoUs), and a Letter of Intent (LOI), covering various aspects of cooperation between the two nations.

Prime Minister Hasina received a warm reception upon her arrival in Bangkok, with a 19-round gunfire salute at Don Mueang International Airport.
