Saida Muna Tasneem, Bangladesh's High Commissioner to the UK, has been recognized with the "Diplomat of the Year Award 2024" by Diplomat Magazine, a globally renowned publication.

The prestigious award was presented to the High Commissioner by Sir Lindsay Hoyle, the Speaker of the British Parliament, during a recent ceremony held in London.

High Commissioner Tasneem's achievements include her election as President of the Women Diplomacy Network in London in 2023, a forum comprising women Ambassadors to the Court of St James's. Additionally, she serves as the first Vice President of the 133rd Assembly of the International Maritime Organisation, a position she was elected to in December 2023.

This accolade follows High Commissioner Tasneem's receipt of the Diplomat of the Year Award in 2022 for her outstanding contributions to climate diplomacy in London in the lead-up to COP26.

The Diplomat of the Year Award is an annual honor presented by Diplomat Magazine UK to Ambassadors who have demonstrated exceptional contributions to diplomacy in the UK. Recipients are selected through voluntary nominations and votes cast by UK-based diplomats representing more than 180 countries with resident missions in London.
