Dhaka, Sep 11 (V7N)- The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 542 people during regular operations across the capital over the past 24 hours. During the same period, police filed 51 cases in connection with various incidents.
The DMP Media and Public Relations Division disclosed the information in a press release issued on Friday (September 11).
According to the DMP, 22 people were arrested in the Ramna division, 28 in Lalbagh, 60 in Wari, 52 in Motijheel, 91 in Tejgaon, 193 in Mirpur, 41 in Gulshan and 42 in Uttara.
Meanwhile, the Detective Branch (DB) arrested 12 people, while the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit arrested one person during the operations.
Police also recovered 45 kilograms and 490 grams of cannabis, 3,291 Yaba tablets, a shotgun, a private car, 15 mobile phones and a pair of handcuffs during the drives.
In addition, one victim was rescued during the operations, the DMP said.
The arrests and seizures were made during separate operations conducted in various police station areas across the capital.
The DMP said legal proceedings against the arrested individuals are currently underway.
