Dhaka, Sep 06 (V7N)- Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has said the main priority now is to ensure the dignified repatriation of nearly 1.5 million Rohingya refugees from Bangladesh to Myanmar.

He made the remarks at a roundtable discussion on the Rohingya crisis in the capital on Sunday.

The Home Minister said international organizations, including the United Nations, must continue efforts to keep the Rohingya crisis on the international agenda.

He stressed that a sustainable solution to the crisis cannot be achieved without the active involvement of influential countries. He urged human rights organizations and powerful states to take stronger measures to ensure the speedy and dignified repatriation of the Rohingya.

Salahuddin Ahmed said the Rohingya must be protected, but the security and interests of the people of Bangladesh must also be ensured.

He emphasized that repatriation to Myanmar is the only sustainable solution to the Rohingya crisis.
