Dhaka, Jul 15 (V7N)- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has presented the Primary Education Medal-2026 to outstanding students in 21 categories based on sports, cultural activities and academic subjects.
The Prime Minister distributed the medals at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in Agargaon, Dhaka, on Wednesday (July 15).
Earlier in the morning, he inaugurated the ceremony by planting a sapling. Later, addressing the students gathered outside the venue, the Prime Minister called on every student to plant a sapling and contribute to protecting the environment.
As part of the government's election manifesto commitment, various competitions were organized nationwide for students from third to fifth grade to encourage talent development and build a creative mindset among children.
The competitions were conducted in phases, beginning at the upazila level and gradually progressing to the national level.
According to officials, a total of 2 crore 18 lakh 28 thousand 693 students from schools across the country participated in these competitions.
The best-performing students selected after completing different stages of the competition are receiving the Primary Education Medal-2026 at the award ceremony.
