Dhaka, Jul 07 (V7N) — Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Tuesday met Fatima Tuz Zohra, the mother of July Uprising martyr Abdullah bin Zahid, and her younger son, Mahmudullah bin Zisan, who is undergoing treatment for cancer.
The meeting took place at the Prime Minister's Office at the National Parliament Secretariat.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister inquired about Zisan's current health condition and assured Fatima Tuz Zohra that she would be provided with employment support.
According to the family, Fatima Tuz Zohra's eldest son, Abdullah bin Zahid, was shot and killed on August 5, 2024, during the July Uprising. Two weeks later, her younger son, Mahmudullah bin Zisan, was diagnosed with cancer. Seven months afterward, the family also lost its father, leaving Fatima in severe financial hardship.
The Prime Minister has been providing financial assistance for Zisan's medical treatment. According to officials, the treatment has been coordinated under the supervision of Atiqur Rahman, Additional Press Secretary to the Prime Minister and Convener of "We Are BNP Family."
Officials said Tarique Rahman had regularly monitored Zisan's treatment progress through Atiqur Rahman and directed that the necessary support for the family's medical needs continue.
