Dhaka, May 28 (V7N)- After offering Eid-ul-Azha prayers on Thursday, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman visited the graves of his father, former President Ziaur Rahman, and his mother, former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.
Following the Eid congregation, the Prime Minister went to Zia Udyan in Dhaka along with his wife Dr. Zubaida Rahman, where they paid tribute at the graves of his parents. Party leaders and activists were also present during the visit.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman first paid homage together with his wife and later joined party leaders and workers in offering prayers and respect at the graves.
After the tribute, Prime Minister’s Adviser Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said that the Prime Minister had extended Eid greetings to the entire nation.
Rizvi also stated that the people’s elected government is working to remain accountable to the citizens and added that people across the country are celebrating Eid this year with sincerity and peace.
Later, the Prime Minister visited the grave of his brother Arafat Rahman Koko at the Banani Graveyard. He also visited the grave of his father-in-law Mahbub Ali Khan at the military cemetery in Banani.
