Dhaka, May 07 (V7N) — Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon has said the government is planning a major increase in investment in the country’s education sector, including a target to allocate five percent of GDP to education.
He made the remarks on Thursday (May 7) while addressing the launch ceremony of a study titled “Strengthening Education, Inclusion and Innovation in Bangladesh” organized by UNICEF.
The minister said the government is preparing a long-term plan to strengthen the education system through increased investment and policy reforms. He criticized the previous Bangladesh Awami League government, claiming it had invested less than 1.5 percent of GDP in the education sector.
Dr. Milon also stated that the government is ready to revise and modernize the national curriculum to match current realities and future demands. According to him, the proposed reforms will focus on ensuring quality, inclusion, and innovation in education for students across the country.
