Jhenaidah, Feb 28 (V7N) — Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md. Asaduzzaman has issued a stern warning that anyone who shelters individuals involved in the Narsingdi rape case will face decisive action.

Speaking to journalists at the Jhenaidah Deputy Commissioner’s Office on Saturday, the minister said the government is determined to ensure justice and will not tolerate any attempt to protect the accused.

He also announced that all ordinances passed constitutionally during the interim government will be presented as bills in parliament. According to him, the 133 ordinances issued during that period will be tabled on the first day of the first session of the Jatiya Sangsad.

Highlighting judicial reforms, the minister said the backlog of cases remains a serious challenge and steps will be taken to address it. He added that while the judiciary enjoys independence, the Supreme Court of Bangladesh will act if that independence is misused.

The minister further said the administration has been instructed to maintain neutrality in tackling issues such as drug trafficking, terrorism, political corruption and violence. He stressed that the government’s positive achievements should not be undermined by the actions of a few miscreants.

Among others present were Deputy Commissioner Abdullah Al Masud, Superintendent of Police Mahfuz Afzal, District BNP President MA Majid, and Rashed Khan, along with representatives from various sectors.
