Lakshmipur, Feb 27 (V7N) — Advisor to the Ministry of Public Administration Md. Ismail Zabiullah has said that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is actively implementing his plans with a hands-on approach, closely monitoring issues “like the CEO of an organization.”

He made the remarks on Friday morning while speaking at the Lakshmipur Circuit House during his first visit to his home district after assuming office.

Administration reform pledge

The advisor stated that Bangladesh’s public administration had become heavily politicized over the past decade and a half, resulting in a loss of neutrality and efficiency. He said the government aims to rebuild the system into an efficient, impartial, and merit-based administration aligned with the Prime Minister’s policy vision.

According to him, the goal is to ensure that officials serve as “servants of the people,” helping build a non-discriminatory, inclusive, accountable, and corruption-free state.

Post-election responsibility

Zabiullah also said that the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) now carries significant responsibility after securing an absolute majority in the election. He emphasized that leaders must honor their commitments to voters and work collectively in the coming days.

Reception at Circuit House

Following a guard of honor, Deputy Commissioner SM Mehedi Hasan and Police Superintendent Md. Abu Tarek welcomed the advisor with flowers. Local BNP leaders and activists also greeted him at the venue.
