Dhaka, Feb 18 (V7N) — Newly appointed Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon emphasized modernizing Bangladesh’s education system and ensuring strict measures against malpractice, speaking to reporters at the Ministry of Education on Wednesday (February 18).
The Education Minister recalled past efforts, stating, “After taking charge in 2001, there was a crackdown on cheating and question paper leaks. Those issues are gone and will not be repeated again.” He stressed the need for progress in the education sector, saying, “We have to provide not only high jumps, but pole vault jumps,” highlighting the goal of achieving excellence beyond conventional standards.
On modernization, Milon added, “Our education system must compete globally. Education is no longer just a domestic commodity; it is an international commodity. We have to embrace nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, robotics, and digital platforms. Digital literacy is essential.”
Regarding curriculum and administration, he clarified, “The curriculum will not be completely changed but will be reviewed. We will ensure there is no corruption in the MPO admission process.”
The minister’s remarks signal a strong focus on quality, innovation, and accountability in the country’s education sector under the new BNP-led government.
