Dhaka, Feb 18 (V7N) — Newly appointed Law Minister Md. Asaduzzaman has emphasized that the government’s top priority is to meet the “mountain-like expectations” of the people. He made the remarks while speaking to journalists at the Secretariat on Wednesday (February 18).

The Law Minister said, “Our main guide will be the 31-point BNP manifesto and the election commitments. We will also move forward with the spirit of those who sacrificed their lives to establish democracy, justice, and the rule of law in this country—both during the July Revolution and the Liberation War of 1971.”

Md. Asaduzzaman acknowledged that the challenges ahead are significant but assured that the government will work continuously to fulfill public expectations without negligence.

He further addressed concerns regarding crimes against humanity, stating that while the legal process will follow its own pace, the government will monitor to prevent any potential misuse of the law.

The Law Minister’s comments underscore the new government’s focus on balancing accountability with the protection of legal integrity as part of its governance agenda.
