Dhaka, Feb 18 (V7N) — The newly formed cabinet, led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, held its first meeting on Wednesday afternoon at the Secretariat. Ministers, state ministers, secretaries of various departments, and government advisors attended the session.

After the meeting, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed told reporters that the government has adopted a 180-day plan, the details of which will be announced soon. The Prime Minister has issued directives to control commodity prices, ensure law and order, and maintain an uninterrupted power supply across the country.

Salahuddin Ahmed emphasized that, “The people have given their verdict on the BNP manifesto. The Prime Minister has instructed all secretaries to implement it faithfully.”

Other ministers and state ministers added that Tarique Rahman has instructed each ministry to work in the public interest and maintain transparency. “All ministries must operate above corruption,” they said, reiterating the Prime Minister’s instructions to uphold accountability and good governance.

The first cabinet meeting signals the new government’s commitment to implementing its manifesto promises while prioritizing the welfare of the people.
