Dhaka, Feb 17 (V7N) — Six members of parliament elected from the National Citizens Party (NCP) in the 13th National Parliament election took oath on Tuesday afternoon and simultaneously joined the Constitutional Reforms Commission.
The oath-taking ceremony was held at 1:22 pm in the oath chamber of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban. Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin administered the oath to the newly elected lawmakers, while Parliament Secretariat Secretary Kaniz Maula conducted the proceedings.
Earlier in the day, MPs from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, and several independent candidates also took oath. However, BNP’s elected representatives did not participate in the oath of the Constitutional Reforms Commission.
The swearing-in marks the continuation of formal parliamentary proceedings following the recently concluded national election, with lawmakers from different parties joining the legislative process in phases.
