Dhaka, Nov 25 (V7N) – The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has submitted the first chargesheet in the July murder case, naming top Awami League leaders, including Sheikh Hasina, as accused.

Another chargesheet is expected to be filed today. The DMP has been preparing the documents after thoroughly investigating cases registered at multiple police stations.

The case stems from the July Uprising, during which truck driver Md. Hossain was shot dead in Mohammadpur Chand Udyan, Dhaka. Following the incident, the victim’s mother, Reena Begum, filed a case against 80 unidentified individuals, including the former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The chargesheet was submitted to the court last Monday, marking the first formal chargesheet filed by the DMP in connection with the murder case. Additional chargesheets for other related cases are reportedly in the final stages of preparation.
