Dhaka, Nov 23 (V7N)- Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman has said that the Bangladesh Army will extend full cooperation to the Election Commission to maintain law and order and ensure free and fair elections across the country.
He made the remarks while addressing a ceremony held at the Army Multipurpose Complex in Dhaka Cantonment on Sunday (November 23) marking Armed Forces Day.
During the event, the Army Chief awarded medals to 64 army personnel and honoured 75 freedom fighter families for their heroic sacrifices and contributions to the nation. Among the awardees, 9 personnel received the Army Medal, 17 received the Outstanding Service Medal, and 38 received the Distinguished Service Medal for their contributions during the fiscal years 2024–2025 and 2025–2026.
General Waqar-uz-Zaman stated that the Bangladesh Army will continue to work for the welfare of the nation and its people, following the ideals set by the freedom fighters.
