Oval Office, June 19 (V7N) – The U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that the United States is the only country capable of destroying Iran’s underground Fordow nuclear facility. However, he clarified that this statement does not mean he has decided to take military action.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office on Wednesday, Trump said, “The United States is the only country that can take out Fordow. But that doesn’t mean I’m going to do it.”

The remarks come amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, with growing concerns about Iran’s nuclear capabilities and regional military exchanges. Trump did not elaborate on whether military options were actively under consideration but added, “Let’s see what happens. Everyone’s asking me about it, but I haven’t made any decision yet.”

The Fordow facility, located deep underground near the city of Qom, is a highly fortified uranium enrichment site and has long been a focal point of international scrutiny. Originally built in secret, the site is protected by layers of rock and reinforced structures, making it difficult to target with conventional weapons.

Trump’s comments, reported by Al Jazeera and other international outlets, have sparked renewed debate over the potential for preemptive strikes on Iranian nuclear infrastructure and the broader implications such action could have on regional stability.

Analysts note that while the U.S. possesses the advanced bunker-busting munitions required to penetrate a facility like Fordow, any strike would risk triggering a larger conflict, particularly given the already volatile situation between Iran and its regional adversaries.

The White House has not issued an official follow-up to Trump’s statement.
