Dhaka, Nov 25 (V7N) – Two more people have died from dengue in Bangladesh as of Monday morning, one receiving treatment at Tangail Medical College Hospital and the other at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital. On the same day, 705 new patients were admitted for dengue treatment.
This year, a total of 90,969 dengue cases have been reported across the country, with 366 deaths. The highest fatalities, 229, have occurred in hospitals across Dhaka city.
According to a Ministry of Health press release, of the newly identified cases in a single day, 248 were in Dhaka city, 137 in the rest of Dhaka division, 116 in Chattogram division, 62 in Barishal division, 53 in Mymensingh division, 34 in Rajshahi division, 16 in Sylhet division, and 5 in Rangpur division.
Currently, 2,345 dengue patients are receiving treatment across various hospitals nationwide, including 781 in Dhaka city and 1,564 outside the capital.
Health authorities continue to urge the public to take preventive measures and seek early medical attention to combat the ongoing dengue outbreak.
