Istanbul, May 20 (V7N) — German side SC Freiburg will face English club Aston Villa in the Europa League final today at the Tupras Stadium in Istanbul, with kickoff scheduled at 1:00 am Bangladesh time.

Both teams completed their final training sessions on Tuesday ahead of the decisive match.

Freiburg enter the final aiming to win a major European trophy for the first time in their history. The German side, competing in their first-ever European final, come into the match with confidence after finishing strongly in the Bundesliga and securing a place in next season’s UEFA Conference League.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa are targeting their first major European title in decades and looking to end a long trophy drought. The English club last lifted a European trophy in 1982 when they won the European Cup (now the Champions League), while their most recent domestic silverware came in 1996.

Villa are led by manager Unai Emery, who has a strong record in European competitions, having previously won the Europa League four times—once with Villarreal and three times with Sevilla. He will now aim to add another European title with the Premier League side.
