London, Apr 27 (V7N)- Chelsea FC booked their place in the FA Cup final after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Leeds United in the semi-final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.
Chelsea dominated proceedings from the start with an attacking approach, which paid off in the first half. In the 23rd minute, Portuguese winger Pedro Neto delivered a precise cross from the right flank, and Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernández headed home the decisive goal.
Leeds had their chances, particularly early in the match when Brenden Aaronson found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper in the 15th minute but failed to convert. Despite increased pressure in the second half, Leeds were unable to break through Chelsea’s solid defense, led by goalkeeper Robert Sánchez.
Tensions rose between players of both teams towards the closing stages, but Chelsea maintained composure to secure the win.
Leeds, who had reached the FA Cup semi-finals for the first time since 1987, could not capitalize on their opportunities and exited the tournament.
Chelsea will now face Manchester City in the FA Cup final scheduled for May 16. The London side will be aiming to lift the trophy for the first time since 2018.
