Dhaka, Jan 15 (V7N) — The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has removed Director M Nazmul Islam from his post as Chairman of the Finance Committee, the board confirmed in a press release on Thursday.
The decision, made by the BCB President, comes after reviewing recent events and in the best interest of the organization. The President will serve as the acting chairman of the committee until further notice.
The BCB emphasized that the highest priority is the welfare of cricketers and that it remains committed to upholding the honor and dignity of all affiliated players. The board expressed hope that players will continue contributing to the development of Bangladesh cricket with professionalism and integrity during this challenging period.
The BCB also urged cricketers to ensure regular participation in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Earlier, the board had indicated that players would be allowed to return to the game only after the removal of Nazmul Islam from the Finance Committee post; otherwise, the BPL could be stopped indefinitely.
