Jeddah, Jan 08 (V7N) — Barcelona stormed into the Super Cup final with a commanding 5–0 victory over Athletic Bilbao in the semi-final on Wednesday night in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Hansi Flick’s side dominated the contest from the outset, producing an attacking display that left Bilbao with little chance. Brazilian winger Raphinha starred for the Catalans, scoring twice to seal the emphatic win.
Barcelona took the lead in the 21st minute when Ferran Torres opened the scoring. The advantage was doubled nine minutes later as López found the net in the 30th minute. Just four minutes after that, Bardagi struck to extend the lead and effectively put the match beyond Bilbao’s reach.
Raphinha added Barcelona’s fourth goal with a superb finish just before halftime, ensuring the Catalans went into the break with a commanding 4–0 lead.
Athletic Bilbao’s only notable moment came when a rare effort struck the post while Barcelona were already well ahead. The dominance continued after the interval, and Raphinha completed his brace in the 52nd minute with a powerful shot from inside the box.
Both teams created chances in the remainder of the match, but no further goals were scored. Barcelona comfortably saw out the game to secure their place in the Super Cup final.
With this convincing victory, Flick’s men advanced confidently to the title stage and will now look to lift the Super Cup.
