Madrid, Nov 25 (V7N) – Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior has informed the club that he does not currently plan to renew his contract, citing a strained relationship with manager Xabi Alonso, according to The Athletic.
The Brazilian forward, whose contract runs until 2027, is reportedly one of five players dissatisfied with Alonso’s coaching style following his appointment as head coach this summer, succeeding Carlo Ancelotti. Vinicius has stated that he will not extend his deal “as long as his relationship with head coach Xabi Alonso remains bad.”
The tension between Vinicius and Alonso became public during Real Madrid’s recent Clasico win over Barcelona, when Alonso substituted Vinicius in the second half. Vinicius expressed visible frustration, prompting a later public apology that did not mention Alonso by name, further fueling speculation about their strained relationship.
The situation leaves Real Madrid facing a potential challenge in securing the long-term future of one of their most important attacking players.
