Barcelona, July 15 (V7N) – FC Barcelona have officially signed Swedish youth sensation Rooney Bardgi from FC Copenhagen, bolstering their attacking options for the future. The club announced the signing on Monday but did not disclose the transfer fee for the 19-year-old winger.

Bardgi, who was born in Kuwait but represents Sweden internationally, has agreed to a four-year contract that will keep him at the Camp Nou until June 30, 2029. He will be under the guidance of new manager Hansi Flick, as Barcelona continue their squad rejuvenation.

Having joined Copenhagen’s youth system in 2020, Bardgi quickly rose through the ranks and made his first-team debut within two years. During his time with the Danish champions, he played 84 matches, scored 15 goals, and provided one assist. His impressive performances helped Copenhagen secure three Danish Superliga titles and two Danish Cups.

Known for his pace, dribbling skills, and attacking flair, Bardgi is expected to initially compete for minutes on the wing, with long-term plans to integrate him more deeply into the first team.

The signing reflects Barcelona’s ongoing commitment to developing young talent, especially as the club looks to balance competitiveness with financial sustainability.

Further details regarding Bardgi’s unveiling and potential debut under Flick are expected to be announced later this week.
