March 15, (V7N) – Overnight Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon killed at least four people, Lebanese state media and officials confirmed Sunday, as Israel pressed its campaign against Iran-backed Hezbollah.

Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that one person was killed when an Israeli strike hit an apartment in a residential building in Sidon, sparking a fire and forcing residents to flee. To the southeast, in the village of Al-Qatrani, three more people were killed in another strike, according to Lebanon’s health ministry.

The Israeli military said it targeted “several Hezbollah launch sites” in Al-Qatrani and destroyed “command centres” belonging to Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Force in Beirut. Hezbollah responded by claiming attacks on Israeli troop positions near the border.

Since the war began on March 2, Israeli airstrikes have killed 826 people in Lebanon, according to the health ministry. The conflict erupted after Hezbollah fired missiles at Israel, opening a second front alongside the US-Israeli campaign against Iran.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has proposed negotiations with Israel, though no agenda or location has been set. French President Emmanuel Macron said Lebanon was ready for “direct talks” and offered to host negotiations in Paris, warning that “everything must be done to prevent Lebanon from descending into chaos.”
