DHAKA, June 11,  (V7N) – A total of 38 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases this year to 5,015, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Of the newly hospitalised patients, 20 were from Barishal, five from Dhaka division, nine from Dhaka North, and four from Dhaka South, said a DGHS press release on Tuesday.

No new deaths were reported during the period, keeping the death toll unchanged at 23 for the year.

Meanwhile, 27 patients were discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours.

In 2024, Bangladesh recorded 1,01,214 dengue cases and 575 deaths, marking one of the worst outbreaks in the country’s history.
