Dhaka, Jun 09 (V7N) — Chief Advisor to the Interim Government, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, is set to leave for the United Kingdom today (Monday) on a four-day official visit.
During the trip, Professor Yunus is scheduled to meet British monarch King Charles III at Buckingham Palace. On this occasion, the Chief Advisor will receive the prestigious 'King Charles Harmony Award' from the King.
In addition to the royal engagement, the Chief Advisor will hold a bilateral meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. He is also scheduled to participate in a high-level dialogue hosted by Chatham House, a leading UK-based policy research institute.
According to the Chief Advisor's office, the visit will focus on strengthening the UK's support for Bangladesh’s democratic transition. Discussions will also highlight Bangladesh’s priority on the repatriation of laundered funds.
Professor Yunus is expected to return to Bangladesh on June 14.
