Dhaka, Jun 05 (V7N) – On the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, operations at several key land ports across Bangladesh—including Benapole, Hili, Bhomra, and Nakugao—have been suspended for 10 days, from Thursday (June 5) to Saturday (June 14).

During this period, most import-export trade activities will remain closed, with regular operations scheduled to resume on Sunday, June 15, port authorities confirmed.

Despite the trade suspension, immigration services for passport-holding passengers will continue as usual, ensuring uninterrupted cross-border travel during the Eid holidays.

Sakhawat Hossain, President of the Hili Land Port Importers Group, stated that the decision to halt trade activities was made in consultation with the relevant business associations and port stakeholders.

Meanwhile, Hili Immigration In-Charge Ariful Islam reassured travelers that immigration operations would continue even on the day of Eid. “Passport-holding travelers from both Bangladesh and India will be allowed to cross the border as usual,” he said.

The temporary closure aligns with annual Eid-ul-Azha celebrations, during which trade activities typically slow down to allow workers and traders to spend time with their families.
