SANGSAD BHABAN, June 18, (V7N)— Liberation War Affairs Minister Ahmed Azam Khan informed Parliament today that the government has adopted a comprehensive long-term plan for the treatment, rehabilitation, employment, and monthly honorarium allowances of those injured during the July Mass Uprising.

Replying to a written question from opposition lawmaker Rokeya Begum (Women Seat-45), the minister said injured July Warriors are receiving free medical care at government hospitals, while those with severe injuries are being sent abroad for advanced treatment. Bangladesh missions in respective countries are overseeing the process.

So far, 152 critically injured July Warriors have been sent to Thailand, Singapore, Türkiye and Russia. Of them, 102 have returned home after completing treatment, while 50 are still undergoing care abroad.

The minister said a database of 3,241 beneficiaries, including families of July martyrs and July Warriors, has been prepared to support welfare and rehabilitation. A list of 1,937 individuals has already been forwarded to the Ministry of Youth and Sports for training and rehabilitation programmes.

Regarding financial assistance, monthly honorarium allowances are being directly deposited into the bank accounts of 13,344 July Warriors out of 14,369 officially gazetted beneficiaries. Category-A beneficiaries receive Tk 20,000 per month, Category-B Tk 15,000, and Category-C Tk 10,000.

Ahmed Azam Khan added that the process of bringing the remaining July Warriors under the allowance programme is underway.

He emphasized that the government’s initiatives reflect its commitment to ensuring dignity, welfare, and long-term rehabilitation for those who sacrificed during the July Mass Uprising.

This plan, he said, combines medical support, financial security, and employment opportunities to safeguard the future of July Warriors and their families.
