DHAKA, June 18, (V7N) — Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen today paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the Prime Minister’s Office in the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.  

Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary Shahadat Hossain Shadhin said the ambassador began the meeting by congratulating Bangladesh on the election of Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman as President of the 2026–2027 session of the United Nations General Assembly.  

Discussions focused on further strengthening bilateral relations between China and Bangladesh, with special emphasis on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, technical education, and people-to-people exchanges.  

Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman and Prime Minister’s Adviser on Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir were present at the meeting, which underscored the shared commitment of both nations to deepen ties across multiple sectors.
